I moved Lily's conversation to PM. Also, I'll be backpacking from this Saturday through next Thursday, and I won't be able to post until I get back.

Does Janelle have any other tasks to attend to prior to leaving?

Nope. Just wanted to check on the princess and Lynterris. She's got the weapons she got from the elves, so she's ready to go.

I'm back from the mountains. Woo internet.
Lily is ready to go. I think you can expect her and Karl at the meeting place at the appointed time.

The illusion does not have any smell, no. If it was outside combat, I would say that yes, she could tell right away that the dragon is fake. Inside combat, she'd need to actually focus on it (use an action) to determine that.

Makes sense. I'm not sure when Lily will get the chance for that, but I guess we'll see.

Lily isn't going to be doing much during this conversation unless Gedrin can Speak with Animals. It's a shame too, she would have loved the dwarf city (if it weren't for her newfound claustrophobia).
So anyway, don't wait for posts from me while everyone talks. I'll jump in if I need to.

I'll be out of town for a few days. Lily will stay with Karl and Janelle.

If you can beat an initiative of 16, you can do something to the quasit before it can start flying away. It's clear it has no intention of sticking around to fight.

A time for last minute prep for Lily and Janelle.
Billy needs to make a Wis check DC 12. A fresh Spot check would also be helpful.
Vorel needs to make a Concentration check DC 12, and should also make a Knowledge(arcana) check. Sliding scale of info based upon the roll (no set DC, higher is better)

Janelle has choices: 1. Attempt to withstand a bull rush against her with a Str check DC 15. 2. Duck and let the demon fly right past her with a Ref save DC 12. 3. Duck and attack as it flies past her with a Ref save Dc 15 and attack roll. 4. Something else clever I didn't think of. No idea what the roll will be for that.
Lily can see plenty of targets to choose from. There are more flying demons than there are people on the wall, so at least some of them will just go right over and do whatever they're going to do.
Vorel can make an Int check DC 15 to judge the last possible moment to separate and flee without suffering any ill effect. If that's failed, he needs a Fort save with a DC that depends upon how much he fails by.
Billy has to decide which way to go here. If the archers to the southwest need help, which he isn't completely sure of, the reinforcements in the center of town are too far away to get there in time.

Well then, here goes... Int Check: 1D20+2 = [3]+2 = 5... Ouch... Fortitude Check: [2]+2 = 4... Things now go poorly for our little psuedodragon me thinks...

Like I said in the spoiler block, I'm assuming that the demons have less mobility than Lily. If she's lucky, they'll be Average or worse, which means they'd have to waste a lot of movement turning around to make a second pass at the archers. If that's inconsistent with how they're actually flying, I'll revise.

Bumpity-bump. Lily is just waiting by the gate; I don't really have anything to post for her until Vorel or Janelle shows up.

Lest anyone panic, DLotS is just on vacation. She didn't seem to be sure if she could (or would ) post or not while away, so I waited some. I'll be NPCing Janelle until she gets back.

J_O, if you happen to be waiting for a notification of new PMs by email, I noticed that I didn't have that turned on. I believe the default is for it to be turned off, so you may want to check that setting.

Due to the fact that we've hit 60 pages, I've started a new thread, Life Finds A Way. This thread begins with this meeting thing. The list of participants is in the old thread.

60 pages, sweet. And we've been going for more than two years, not even counting the previous Pallanche campaign. That's awesome.
